By my upbringing and nature I am a planner. I do not react well and adapt to change I prefer to have mapped out all the congigencies and have two back up plans for any possible situation. This has lead me to look at disaster preparation from the point of view of the ZOMBIE APOCALYPSE . So I tend to Consume BRAAIIINS, sorry I mean a lot of Zombie media.
My reason_for_living is by training a scholar in the area of feminist, historical, gender studies. We are taking BIG L literature here. Her work on the love letters of a pair of Victorian Inscestuous Lesbians -The Fowl & The PussyCat is published and available at amazon here. She once famously quipped “Life is too short to read male authors”.
So not a lot of over lap there in reading. It is rare for us to find a book we both can get into. The last one we found was ‘My Year of Meat’ by Ruth L. Ozeki. But I have high hopes for this one.
Pride and Pejudice and Zombies
The Classic Regency Romance—Now with Ultraviolent Zombie Mayhem!
This story features the the original text of Jane Austen’s novel with all-new scenes of bone-crunching zombie action.
As our story opens, a mysterious plague has fallen upon the quiet English village of Meryton—and the dead are returning to life!
Feisty heroine Elizabeth Bennet is determined to wipe out the zombie menace, but she’s soon distracted by the arrival of the haughty and arrogant Mr. Darcy.
What ensues is a delightful comedy of manners with plenty of civilized sparring between the two young lovers— BUT more importantly an even more violent sparring on the blood-soaked battlefield as Elizabeth wages war against hordes of flesh-eating undead.
Complete with 20 illustrations in the style of C. E. Brock (the original illustrator of Pride and Prejudice), this insanely funny expanded edition will introduce Jane Austen’s classic novel to new legions of fans.
Its available after April 15 from Chronicle Books.
I’m so excited.
PS and the Picture on the cover of the book is called a Memento mori or Reminder of Death.
